When should I start using Can-C?

As with many medications, the sooner you start treating your symptoms the more effective your treatment will be. So for the most effective results, you should start to use Can-C as soon as possible after your cataract has been detected.

What sort of dosage should I use?

When treating cataracts, an ideal dose is two drops twice a day into the affected eye. If you are using Can-C as a preventative measure, two drops once a day into each eye is suitable.

How long will I have to use Can-C before I can expect to see an improvement?

Within only one month of use, Can-C has been shown to have measurable affects. However, in order to gain maximum efficacy, Can-C should be used on a daily basis at the suggested dosage for a period of at least 6 months.

The dosage level is pretty low - will I get better quicker if I increase the dose?

No - although two drops twice a day into the affected eye might not seem very much, there is no benefit to be gained in exceeding this dose.

Once I start using Can-C will I have to continue the treatment indefinitely?

Given that senile cataracts are an ongoing ageing problem, it is a good idea to continue to use Can-C occasionally even after the reduction/reversal of the cataract(s). This will help to prevent any re-occurrence of the condition.

What are the most common side effects?

One of the benefits of using Can-C is that not only is it really easy to use but there are no real side effects . For most people using Can-C is easy, hassle free and side effect free. Very rarely, stinging may occur. Any stinging should naturally disappear with continued use, but if it is too uncomfortable Can-C use should be stopped.

Is it OK to use Can-C if I am using other prescription eye drop medication?

If you are using other prescription eye drop medications, you should ask the advice of your ophthalmic physician before starting to use Can-C.

Can you still wear contact lenses while using Can-C?

Yes. Contact lenses wearing while using Can-C should not cause you any problems at all. In fact, it might actually be better for you to use Can-C with lenses than to not use Can-C at all. This is because some of the difficulties that people sometimes experience whilst wearing contact lenses (particularly soft lenses) such as dryness and irritation can be actively improved with the use of Can-C. Not only do the lubricants in the Can-C help to make wearing contact lenses more comfortable, the n-acetylcarnosine contained in Can-C may also reduce the build up of lactic acid in the eye. By doing this, contact lenses can safely be worn for longer.
